About Psychiatry & Mental Health

Health Med offers outpatient psychiatry for people seeking an evaluation or continuing care for mental health concerns. Our service includes psychiatric assessment, medication management, and follow-up in Jamaica, Queens. Contact the office to confirm the clinician and appointment appropriate for your age and needs.

Starting with an evaluation

An initial psychiatric evaluation is an opportunity to discuss what you have been experiencing, how it affects daily life, and any previous treatment. The clinician may review symptoms, sleep, medical history, medicines, and your goals for care.

Our published services include care for mood and anxiety concerns, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and other psychiatric conditions. A symptom or an online questionnaire alone does not establish a diagnosis. The assessment helps determine the next steps and whether further information is needed.

Medication and ongoing care

If medication is part of your plan, follow-up visits provide time to review benefit, side effects, and any changes in your health. Bring a complete list of medicines and supplements, including prescriptions from other clinicians. A consultation does not guarantee a particular prescription.

Supportive therapy and referrals may also be discussed. Ask the office which therapy services are available and how they differ from longer-term psychotherapy. Virtual follow-up visits may be an option when clinically appropriate; confirm current availability and eligibility when booking.
