Preventive care is individual

A preventive visit provides time to review your health history, concerns, and screening needs. It does not mean that every patient needs the same examination or a Pap test every year. Your clinician can explain which screening is appropriate based on your age, previous results, and other factors.

If you have a new symptom, describe it directly rather than waiting to raise it only at a future routine checkup. Ask about the appropriate timing and type of appointment.
